Is it possible to make the storefront password-protected and restrict access only to registered members through client-side SSO?

Of course. It is absolutely possible.

1. Open Virto Commerce Back-office
2. Select Stores, then required Store
3. Click Authentication widget and uncheck Password option.
4. Then open store settings and uncheck Anonymous store visits setting**.**
